How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Microsoft Cloud Solutions Architect / Hybrid – Manchester or London

    Closing date 8th July 2026

Join us as a Microsoft Cloud Solutions Architect and play a pivotal role in shaping how a critical national organisation designs, governs, and evolves its cloud platforms. This is more than a technical role—it’s a chance to influence enterprise-wide transformation, working at the intersection of architecture, engineering, and strategy across Azure, Microsoft 365, and emerging cloud technologies.

If you’re passionate about building secure, scalable cloud environments and want to see your work make a tangible impact, this role offers the autonomy, variety, and challenge to take your expertise to the next level.

    About the DCC

We’re powering Britain’s smarter, greener future. Today. Tomorrow. Together.

Today, we’re building a resilient and secure smart energy network that underpins transformation across the UK.

Tomorrow, we’re driving innovation and supporting the transition to Net Zero through cutting-edge technology and collaboration.

Together, we create an environment where our people thrive—working across teams, developing new skills, and shaping the future of energy.

A career at DCC means being part of something bigger: meaningful work, real impact, and continuous opportunity to grow.

How you will contribute to transforming the smart energy network and shaping the future

Design, provision, and govern Azure and Microsoft 365 services to deliver secure, scalable enterprise cloud solutions.
Lead end-to-end solution architecture, translating complex business requirements into robust cloud designs aligned to long-term strategy.
Define and implement governance, standards, and patterns across Microsoft cloud platforms, including SharePoint Online and Power Platform.
Collaborate with architecture, security, delivery teams, and third parties to integrate cloud services and support migration initiatives (including Microsoft Fabric).
Provide technical leadership across optimisation, resilience, and continuous improvement of the Microsoft cloud estate.

    What you need to bring

Proven experience architecting and delivering Azure and Microsoft 365 solutions in complex enterprise environments.
Strong ability to design scalable, secure cloud architectures and translate business needs into technical solutions.
Hands-on capability with automation and scripting (particularly PowerShell; Python or C# advantageous).
Deep understanding of cloud governance, identity, security, and compliance best practices.
Excellent stakeholder collaboration skills, with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical teams.

    Benefits

While our mission is ambitious, we also prioritise balance—offering flexibility and support to help you thrive both personally and professionally.

Hybrid working (typically 8 days per month in the office)
Competitive salary with regular benchmarking and performance-related bonus
    Generous annual leave and pension
Private healthcare and flexible benefits to suit your lifestyle
Ongoing development opportunities, access to learning programmes, and exposure to industry experts
