How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you a Graduate seeking a career in Psychology or Counselling? Are you interested in gaining experience with mental health and additional needs?

    We are looking for a Psychology Graduate to work as a Learning Support Assistant at a small specialist school in Oxford. All the students in the school have special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and communication needs, physical disabilities and social and emotional needs. The school have a real focus on ensuring all the pupils have the right support system in place, and feel safe and happy in the school, so if you are bubbly, friendly and proactive please apply!

    As a Learning Support Assistant, your day to day will involve working with a range of students, on a one-to-one basis, as well as in wider groups. You will help prepare learning materials to the students, check on their welfare, and help increase their independent living skills. The school have a big focus on life skills, as well as making sure the school day is fun and engaging, so expect a lot of cooking, singing and art!

    By working in a specialist setting, this role will give you the essential experience needed to train as an Educational Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Youth Worker or Speech and Language Therapist in the near future. Not only will you gain a first-hand insight into development and neurodiversity, you will also learn to identify the risks and needs of each child, and ensure they meet the milestones set for them. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent Graduate or someone with previous experience working with children.

    This role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am until 3:30pm each day. The school are ideally looking for a Psychology Graduate who can start ASAP so please apply now!
