How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    M&E Quantity Surveyor

    Location: London
    Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 + Package (DOE)
    Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

    The Opportunity

    We are working with a leading M&E Contractor who delivers high-value residential, commercial, healthcare and mixed-use developments across London and the South East. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are seeking an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

    This is an excellent opportunity to work on projects ranging from £1m to £30m+ MEP value, taking commercial responsibility from pre-construction through to final account.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

    Managing the commercial aspects of mechanical and electrical packages from procurement through to final account.

    *

    Preparing and submitting valuations, applications for payment and variation accounts.

    *

    Reviewing and negotiating subcontractor packages.

    *

    Cost reporting, forecasting and budget management.

    *

    Identifying and managing project risks and opportunities.

    *

    Preparing and agreeing final accounts with clients and subcontractors.

    *

    Assisting with procurement and supply chain management.

    *

    Working closely with Project Managers and operational teams to ensure commercial success.

    *

    Supporting contract administration and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.

    *

    Producing monthly CVRs and commercial reports for senior management.

    Requirements

    *

    Proven experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor within the Building Services sector.

    *

    Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical installations.

    *

    Experience working for an M&E Contractor or Building Services specialist.

    *

    Knowledge of standard forms of contract including JCT and NEC.

    *

    Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    *

    Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.

    *

    Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

    *

    Degree qualified or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
