How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Site Engineer – UPVC Fabrication Machinery & Site Maintenance
    Location: Aldridge, West Midlands
    Job Type: Full-time (40–45 hours per week)
    Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 DOE

    About the Role

    We are working on behalf of an established UPVC window and door manufacturing business seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer / Site Engineer.

    This is a varied, hands-on role responsible for maintaining and repairing specialist UPVC fabrication machinery as well as supporting general site and facilities maintenance. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring maximum equipment uptime and smooth day-to-day production operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    Machinery Maintenance

    * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on UPVC fabrication machinery

    * Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults

    * Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise production downtime

    * Install, commission, and relocate machinery when required

    * Maintain accurate maintenance records and service schedules

    * Liaise with external suppliers and contractors where necessary

    Site Maintenance

    * Carry out general building and facilities maintenance tasks

    * Maintain site services including lighting, heating, compressed air systems, and utilities

    * Undertake minor repairs to buildings, fixtures, and equipment

    * Support health & safety inspections and ensure compliance with procedures

    * Maintain workshop tools and maintenance equipment

    Continuous Improvement

    * Identify opportunities to improve machinery reliability and efficiency

    * Support machinery upgrades and improvement projects

    * Assist in managing spare parts stock levels and recommendations

    Candidate Requirements

    Essential

    * Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role within manufacturing or production

    * Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills

    * Basic electrical fault-finding ability

    * Experience working with industrial machinery

    * Ability to read technical drawings and manuals

    * Strong organisational and record-keeping skills

    * Full UK driving licence

    * Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively

    Desirable

    * Experience with UPVC fabrication machinery (e.g., welding, routing, cutting, CNC, corner cleaning)

    * Electrical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, 18th Edition or equivalent)

    * Knowledge of PLC-controlled systems

    * Health & Safety qualification (IOSH or equivalent)
