How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An established and growing construction business specialising in industrial building solutions is seeking a Sales Estimator to join its team based near Market Drayton.

    This is an office-based position offering an excellent opportunity for an organised and commercially aware individual to play a key role in the sales and estimating process, managing enquiries from initial lead through to secured orders.

    The Role

    As a Sales Estimator you will be responsible for assessing enquiries, understanding customer requirements and producing accurate quotations within agreed timescales. You will act as a key point of contact for customers throughout the sales process, ensuring a high level of service and professionalism.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Speak with prospective customers to gather project information and requirements

    • Review all incoming enquiries and clarify any outstanding details with clients

    • Prepare detailed quotations using the company's in-house estimating system

    • Issue quotations via email and post

    • Maintain accurate records of all quotations on internal systems

    • Follow up quotations through regular communication with customers

    • Revise quotations in line with customer requirements and project changes

    • Discuss payment terms and commercial arrangements with clients

    • Manage customer enquiries from initial contact through to order placement

    • Build strong relationships with customers and provide exceptional service throughout the sales process

    Requirements

    • Previous experience within a sales, estimating or quantity surveying role

    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

    • Strong numerical and analytical abilities

    • High level of attention to detail

    • Commercial awareness and understanding of project costing

    • Ability to manage multiple enquiries and deadlines effectively

    • Customer-focused approach with strong relationship-building skills

    Desirable

    • Technical or construction-related background

    • Experience working with steel framed buildings

    • Quantity Surveying experience within the construction sector
