Science Teacher (Behaviour)

We are seeking an enthusiastic, resilient and committed Teacher of Science to join our dedicated team from September 2026 on a permanent basis.

Our school provides education for secondary-aged learners with social, emotional and behavioural needs. We are passionate about creating a nurturing, supportive and structured environment where every young person can achieve success, develop confidence and reach their full potential.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

Deliver engaging and differentiated Science lessons to secondary-aged pupils.
Build positive relationships with learners and support them to overcome barriers to learning.
Create a safe, structured and inclusive classroom environment.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external agencies to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
Contribute to the wider life of the school and its commitment to improving outcomes for all learners.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must be able to demonstrate:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience of teaching Science at secondary level.
Experience of working with children and young people who present with challenging behaviour or additional behavioural needs.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with learners.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Desirable

Experience working within a specialist, alternative provision or behaviour setting.
Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches and restorative practices.
Ability to teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4.
