How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Graduate / Trainee Estimator & Project Coordinator – Commercial Ventilation

    Salary: Circa £28,000 per annum
    Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Our client is a specialist commercial ventilation contractor delivering installation projects across a range of commercial buildings. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Graduate / Trainee Estimator & Project Coordinator to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or ambitious trainee looking to build a career within the construction and building services sector. The successful candidate will receive training and support to learn how to price commercial ventilation projects, prepare quotations and assist with the management of projects from initial enquiry through to completion.

The role will involve reviewing drawings, specifications and tender enquiries, assisting with take-offs, obtaining quotations from suppliers, and helping to build up accurate costs for labour, materials, plant and installation works.

You will also support the project delivery team by assisting with procurement, coordinating materials and labour, communicating with site teams and clients, updating project records and helping ensure works are delivered on time and within budget.

Over time, you will develop experience in estimating, commercial awareness, project coordination, procurement, cost control and client communication within the commercial ventilation sector.

The ideal candidate will be a recent graduate or trainee with an interest in construction, building services, mechanical services, estimating or project management. A degree, HNC/HND or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building Services, Mechanical Engineering or a related subject would be beneficial, although applicants with the right attitude and willingness to learn will also be considered.

You should have good numerical skills, strong attention to detail, good communication and organisational skills, and confidence using Microsoft Excel, Word and email. The ability to read technical drawings would be beneficial, although training will be provided.

A full UK driving licence would be advantageous due to occasional site visits.

In return, the company offers a salary of circa £28,000, full training and mentoring from experienced estimators and project managers, exposure to live commercial ventilation projects, and genuine long-term career progression within a growing specialist contractor.
