How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a high-growth furniture category within an ambitious e-commerce business that is investing heavily in its future. We're looking for a commercially driven Furniture Buyer to shape and scale a product range that will play a key role in the company's next phase of growth. You'll have significant autonomy to influence category strategy, build supplier partnerships across international markets, and drive commercial performance through intelligent sourcing and range development. Working closely with senior leadership, you'll be responsible for identifying market opportunities, developing compelling product ranges, negotiating directly with manufacturers, and ensuring the category delivers against sales, margin and growth objectives.

    Key responsibilities include:

    * Developing and executing category strategies across furniture, with exposure to complementary home and lifestyle categories.

    * Building and managing direct relationships with international manufacturers, particularly across the Far East.

    * Identifying new product opportunities, market trends and customer demands to strengthen the product proposition.

    * Negotiating commercial agreements, pricing structures and supplier terms to maximise profitability.

    * Managing supplier performance, quality standards and compliance requirements.

    * Collaborating with merchandising and supply chain teams to optimise stock availability and inventory performance.

    * Analysing sales, margin and market data to make informed commercial decisions and drive continuous improvement.

    * Travelling internationally to visit suppliers, attend sourcing trips and strengthen factory relationships.

This is a highly visible role offering genuine influence, ownership and the opportunity to make a significant impact within a fast-moving business environment.

    ABOUT THE CANDIDATE

We're interested in speaking with experienced buying professionals who combine strong commercial instincts with proven international sourcing expertise.

    You'll bring:

    * Significant buying experience within furniture, homewares, interiors or related consumer product categories (essential for this role).

    * A strong track record of sourcing directly from manufacturers and managing international supply chains.

    * Experience working within a fast-paced retail or e-commerce environment.

    * Strong knowledge of Far East sourcing and factory management.

    * Excellent negotiation skills with a history of improving commercial outcomes and supplier performance.

    * An analytical approach, with confidence using data to support buying decisions and category strategy.

    * Understanding of international freight, logistics, quality assurance and lead-time management.

    * Advanced Excel and commercial reporting capabilities.

    * The ambition to help build and scale a category within a rapidly growing business.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys taking ownership, spotting opportunities and driving growth.

    ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is an ambitious, entrepreneurial online retailer with significant investment behind its growth plans. Having established a strong position within its market, the business is now entering an exciting phase of expansion, with ambitious targets and a clear vision for the future.

Despite its growth, the business has retained a dynamic, agile culture where good ideas are encouraged, decisions are made quickly, and individuals are given the opportunity to make a real impact. This is a chance to join at a pivotal stage of the journey and help shape what comes next.
