How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Central Birmingham

    Pay Rates: £15.16 Days / £16.87 Nights 

    Shifts: 

    Rotating Double Days - 06:00 – 13:30 / 13:30 – 21:00

    Permanent Nights - 21:00 – 06:00

    We are recruiting for Automotive Production & Machine Operatives to join a global Tier 1 automotive supplier based in Birmingham. This is an excellent long-term opportunity offering competitive pay rates, regular overtime, and the potential for permanent employment with a leading manufacturer supplying major automotive brands across the UK and Europe.

    The Role

    Working within a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring production machinery used in the manufacture of precision-engineered automotive components.

    Key duties will include:

    Operating CNC and semi-automated production machinery within a fast-paced automotive production facility

    Running laser welders, hydraulic presses, water jet cutting equipment, robotic welding cells and other specialist manufacturing equipment

    Loading and unloading components safely and efficiently to maintain production targets

    Conducting quality inspections using gauges, measuring equipment and visual inspection techniques

    Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions

    Carrying out machine adjustments and basic troubleshooting to minimise downtime

    Maintaining production output while adhering to strict automotive quality standards

    Completing production documentation and updating computer-based manufacturing systems

    Identifying defects and escalating quality concerns in line with company procedures

    Supporting continuous improvement activities to improve productivity, quality and efficiency

    Following all health, safety and environmental procedures within a manufacturing environment

    Working as part of a production team to achieve daily and weekly customer requirementsCandidate Requirements

    To be considered for this role, applicants should possess:

    A minimum of 12 months' experience operating manufacturing or production machinery

    Previous experience within an automotive manufacturing environment

    Experience operating CNC machinery, robotic welding equipment, press machinery or automated production equipment

    A strong understanding of quality standards and production processes

    Experience working to production targets and KPI requirements

    The ability to read engineering drawings and follow technical instructions

    Good computer literacy and experience using production systems

    Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality components

    A flexible and reliable approach to shift working

    Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a teamWhat's on Offer?
