How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Candidates who demonstrate reliability, strong behaviour management and professional classroom practice are likely to receive regular work throughout the academic year.
Opportunities may include individual day bookings, recurring weekly work, short-term blocks and longer-term placements.

Teach within your subject specialism where required.
Follow lesson plans and resources provided by the school.

Manage behaviour confidently in line with school policies.
Ensure pupils remain engaged and complete the work set.
Adapt quickly to different schools, timetables and classroom expectations.
Support pupils of varying abilities, including SEND where required.
Provide clear feedback to teaching staff following lessons.
Follow safeguarding procedures and uphold the standards of each school.
    Requirements
    The successful candidate will:

Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Have recent experience teaching within a UK secondary school.
Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and classroom practice.
Be confident managing behaviour and maintaining clear expectations.
Be reliable, punctual, professional and adaptable.
Be comfortable working across different schools and year groups.
Be available for flexible, short-term or regular weekly bookings.
Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.
Have the right to work in the UK.
Experienced teachers, ECTs, retired teachers and qualified teachers seeking part-time work are encouraged to apply.Pay & Benefits
