How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Software Team Lead - Bristol (SC Eligible)

    Hybrid working

    We're looking for a hands-on Software Team Lead to lead a high-performing engineering team in Bristol, combining strong people leadership with deep technical expertise.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a hybrid role-driving software delivery while contributing to system architecture, integration, and complex engineering challenges.

    The Role

    As a Software Team Lead, you will:

    Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4-5 software engineers

    Provide hands-on technical leadership across the full software lifecycle:

    Requirements analysis
    Design & architecture
    Implementation
    Testing & integration
    DeliveryPlay a key role in system-level decision making, including software integration with hardware and networks

    Manage project schedules, priorities, and team budget

    Ensure delivery aligns with customer requirements and business objectives

    Technical Environment

    You'll work with modern tools and technologies including:

    C++ (modern standards)
    Visual Studio, Git, Jira
    Qt framework (desirable)
    Simulation-based and networked systems

    What We're Looking For

    Proven experience leading software or engineering teams
    Strong background in developing complex, high-integrity systems
    Experience balancing people management with technical leadership
    Solid understanding of:
    Systems architecture & integration
    Requirements definition
    Software lifecycle delivery
