How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Teaching Assistant – Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria

    Vision for Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant from September 2026. This is a full-time role for the 2026/27 academic year, with the potential for a permanent position in 2027 for the right person. 

    The Role

    The successful Teaching Assistant will support learning across Ealry years or KS1 classes within a thriving primary school in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. This rewarding Teaching Assistant role will involve working closely with class teachers to support pupils during their early years education, helping to create a positive, engaging and nurturing learning environment.

    As a Teaching Assistant in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, you will support children through play-based learning activities, phonics sessions, language development and early numeracy activities. The role will also involve providing targeted support for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs, ensuring all children can access learning opportunities and make progress both academically and socially.

    The ideal Teaching Assistant will:

    Support teaching and learning within EYFS / KS1 classrooms.
    Deliver small-group and one-to-one interventions.
