How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Description
Escalator Engineer - Night Jobs in Greater London at Stannah - Join Our Team!

Location: Greater London (including Gatwick & Stansted rail stations)
    Hours: 19:00 – 7:00, 4 on 4 off (12-hour shifts with 45-minute unpaid break)

Salary: Basic salary up to £75K (depending on skills and experience) + Overtime + Benefits and Paid Door to Door.

Join Stannah as an Escalator Engineer working across some of the UK’s busiest transport hubs, including key rail and underground sites.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of high-profile escalator systems, ensuring safe, reliable operation across your London patch.

You will be servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of escalators and moving walkways across major rail and underground sites. This includes working on specific equipment such as KONE TM, RTV and RTK units, Schindler 9300 escalators, Anlev systems, and Otis 506 NCE equipment. The work is varied, technical and fast-paced, requiring strong fault-finding skills across both mechanical and electrical systems.

Your patch will cover all of Greater London, with additional work at Gatwick Airport station and Stansted Airport station. The role is focused on transport infrastructure, meaning you will be working in high-profile, safety-critical environments but without the need for wide regional travel.

If you are an experienced escalator engineer living within the M25 looking for a structured shift pattern, exposure to high-profile London projects, and a role with no call-out rota, this is an excellent next step in your career.

    Escalator Engineer Responsibilities:

Conduct maintenance, repairs, and callouts on escalators and moving walkways from various manufacturers.

Ensure high standards of service delivery, safety, and customer care.

Perform effective risk assessments and maintain site log cards during every visit.

Please see full job description here:

    Escalator Engineer Requirements :

Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Escalator Engineering or equivalent.
