How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Completing refurbishments, overhauls and repairs, including fault diagnosis and corrective actions

    * Assembling sub-assemblies and kits for the spares department

    * Carrying out functional, mechanical and safety testing prior to dispatch

    * Identifying non-conformances and providing technical feedback to engineering or production teams

    * Using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely and efficiently

    * Supporting continuous improvement activities within the workshop

    * Attending customer sites when required for installations, servicing, commissioning or inspections

    * Maintaining accurate build, test and refurbishment records where required

    The successful candidate will have:

    * Proven experience in mechanical assembly, machine build or industrial equipment manufacture

    * The ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation

    * A strong understanding of mechanical systems, tolerances, fasteners and assembly procedures

    * Experience in machinery refurbishment, repair and fault-finding

    * Familiarity with workshop practices, quality standards and safe working procedures

    * The ability to work independently to specifications and as part of a technical team

    * A methodical and detail-oriented approach to work

    * A reliable, well-organised and proactive attitude

    * Willingness to travel to customer sites as required

    * Physically capable of carrying out manual handling and workshop-based tasks

    * An apprenticeship or qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering or similar would be advantageous

    * A forklift truck licence would be beneficial but not essential

    Benefits:

    * 25 days annual holiday

    * Contributory pension scheme

    * Share of annual staff bonus based on company profits

    * Professional development opportunities

    * Permanent health insurance
