How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role: Lead Healthcare Design Engineer

    Type: Permanent, Full Time

    Hours: Onsite – 37.5 hours per week

    Salary: £45,000 per annum + Benefits  

    Location: Wolverhampton

    Owen Daniels are supporting a leading manufacturing company, and we are looking for an experienced Design Engineer within Healthcare to join on a permanent basis, due to growth in the business.

    Lead Healthcare Design Engineer – Key responsibilities:

    Lead, motivate and develop a team of Wiring and Planning Engineers to achieve departmental objectives and maintain high performance standards.
    Manage workload allocation, resource planning and project priorities to ensure all work is delivered on time, within scope and to the required quality standards.
    Oversee the creation, review and approval of wiring schematics, software and technical documentation, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.
    Drive continuous improvement by implementing robust quality assurance, document control and 3D design processes across the department.
    Collaborate with internal stakeholders and customers to ensure effective project delivery, seamless workflow integration and a customer-focused approach to design and planning activities. 

    Lead Healthcare Design Engineer - Essential Skills & Experience:

    Demonstrable experience leading and managing technical engineering, design or planning teams within a fast-paced project environment.
    Relevant qualifications in engineering or related discipline.
    Strong understanding of electrical schematics, system design principles and relevant standards, including BS 7671, ISO 19650 and IEC/BS EN 60601.
    Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit or similar, with experience producing and reviewing technical drawings and documentation.
    Excellent organisational and resource management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and manage multiple projects effectively.
