How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We’re recruiting for a Mechanical Design & Service Engineer to join a specialist OEM engineering business supporting the repair, refurbishment and rebuild of heavy industrial equipment and machinery.

    This is a hands-on engineering role combining mechanical design, reverse engineering, technical problem-solving, and customer support. You’ll work on the refurbishment of existing machinery, creation of replacement parts, and continuous improvement of legacy equipment.

    It’s a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex mechanical problems and working across the full product lifecycle, from inspection and fault diagnosis through to redesign, manufacture and assembly.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Produce 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks

    * Create and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation

    * Support repairs, refurbishments and rebuilds of OEM capital equipment

    * Assess used machinery and components, identifying whether to repair, reuse or replace

    * Carry out reverse engineering of existing components

    * Support production teams during dismantling, inspection and rebuild phases

    * Liaise with purchasing for component sourcing and specification

    * Provide technical support to customer service, field service and sales teams

    * Support customer visits, technical meetings, inspections and site-based discussions when required

    What We’re Looking For

    We’re open to candidates from design-heavy or service-heavy backgrounds, provided you have strong mechanical engineering fundamentals.

    Essential:

    * HND / Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)

    * Experience in mechanical design or service/refurbishment engineering

    * Experience working with industrial machinery or capital equipment

    * Strong SolidWorks experience (3D modelling + manufacturing drawings)

    * Knowledge of GD&T

    * Experience with BOM creation

    Desirable:

    * Reverse engineering experience

    * Hydraulics knowledge

    * SAP / ERP systems experience

    * PDM systems experience

    * ECN / engineering change processes

    * OEM aftermarket or service engineering experience

    Ideal Backgrounds:

    We’d especially like to hear from candidates with experience in:

    * Capital equipment / Heavy Machinery OEMs

    * Industrial machinery refurbishment

    * Packaging machinery / Process Equipment

    * Field service engineering

    * Aftermarket engineering support

    Why Apply?

    * Work on complex, bespoke engineering projects

    * High variety of work across repair, rebuild and improvement projects

    * Opportunity to combine design and practical engineering

    * Exposure to customer-facing technical work

    If you’re a Mechanical Design Engineer, Service Engineer, Applications Engineer, Refurbishment Engineer or Aftermarket Engineer looking for your next challenge, we’d like to hear from you
