How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    What You Will Be Doing
    As a Transport Planner, you will be:
    ·Preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans for a range of development projects.
    ·Analysing traffic data and assisting with junction capacity assessments.
    ·Supporting planning applications by providing technical transport advice.
    ·Working closely with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary teams.
    ·Assisting with the delivery of projects from inception through to completion.
    ·Preparing high-quality reports and presentations.
    ·Contributing to meetings and helping to maintain strong client relationships.
    ·Supporting senior colleagues on larger and more complex schemes.
     
    This Transport Planner role offers the opportunity to develop your technical capabilities while gaining experience across a varied and exciting workload.
     
    Skills and Experience Required
    To be considered for this Transport Planner position, you should have:
    ·Experience within transport planning, ideally with exposure to development planning projects.
    ·Knowledge of the UK planning process and relevant transport guidance.
    ·Experience preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
    ·Familiarity with traffic analysis and junction modelling software would be advantageous.
    ·Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    ·Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
    ·A proactive approach and willingness to continue developing professionally.
    ·Membership of a relevant professional institution or a desire to work towards professional accreditation would be beneficial.
