How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you an ambitious Formulation Scientist, Formulation Chemist, or Pharmaceutical Development Scientist looking to take the next step in your career?

    We are looking for a Development Chemist to join a dynamic R&D team developing innovative veterinary pharmaceutical products for global markets. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure across the full product lifecycle, from early-stage formulation and process development through to scale-up and regulatory submission.

    Key responsibilities:

    * Developing and optimising pharmaceutical formulations across a range of dosage forms, including oral, injectable, and topical products.

    * Supporting process development, scale-up, and manufacturing activities.

    * Conducting physico-chemical analysis of APIs and finished products.

    * Assisting with analytical method development and validation.

    * Preparing technical documentation to support regulatory submissions.

    * Applying Quality by Design (QbD) principles to product development projects.

    * Working closely with multidisciplinary R&D, analytical, and manufacturing teams.

    Essentials:

    * Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.

    * 2–5 years' experience within pharmaceutical development, formulation, or manufacturing.

    * Knowledge of GMP/GxP and ICH guidelines.

    * Experience analysing scientific data and supporting development decisions.

    * Strong communication skills and the ability to work within cross-functional teams.

    Desirable experience:

    * QbD, DoE, Minitab, or Design-Expert.

    * Oral solid dosage, sterile injectable, or topical formulation experience.

    * Technology transfer and scale-up activities.

    * Veterinary pharmaceutical experience.

    * MSc or PhD in a relevant scientific field.

    Location: Northen Ireland (Onsite)

    Additional information: This role is based on a manufacturing site that handles penicillin compounds, so will not be suitable for individuals with a penicillin allergy
