How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    As a Buying Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting the Buying and Business Support teams, ensuring information is accurate, up to date, and delivered on time.

    Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

    šŸ“Š Maintaining product, pricing, supplier, and promotional information within internal systems

    šŸ“‹ Supporting supplier administration, including price changes, forecasts, and supply updates

    šŸ“¢ Assisting with newsletters, promotions, trading documents, and member communications

    šŸ“ˆ Monitoring product performance and maintaining reporting schedules

    šŸ¤ Building strong relationships with suppliers, stakeholders, and business members

    šŸ“ Supporting tender processes, contracts, compliance documentation, and approval workflows

    šŸ“… Coordinating travel arrangements, meetings, and key business events

    šŸŽÆ Providing essential administrative support across a variety of commercial projects

    We're keen to hear from candidates who have:

    āœ”ļø At least 2 years' commercial administration experience

    āœ”ļø Strong organisational and time-management skills

    āœ”ļø Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

    āœ”ļø Confidence using Microsoft Office applications

    āœ”ļø Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels

    āœ”ļø A proactive, positive, and flexible approach to work

    āœ”ļø A full, clean UK driving licence

    Experience within buying, procurement, wholesale, retail, or commercial support environments would be advantageous but is not essential.
