Responsibilities
As a Class 2 HGV Driver, your duties will include:
* Safely operating a Class 2 HGV vehicle to deliver engineered trusses and I-beams to customer locations.
* Loading and unloading products securely using appropriate equipment and safe handling techniques.
* Planning efficient delivery routes to maximise productivity and minimise travel time.
* Conducting daily vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety regulations.
* Reporting any vehicle defects, maintenance requirements, or safety concerns.
* Accurately completing all delivery documentation, including delivery notes, invoices, and customer signatures.
* Maintaining records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage.
* Providing excellent customer service and representing the company professionally at all times.
* Adhering to all road traffic legislation, health and safety requirements, and company policies.
* Communicating effectively with dispatch teams, warehouse personnel, and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
Requirements
The successful candidate will possess:
* A valid Class 2 HGV Driving Licence (Class 1 licence would be advantageous).
* Previous experience driving HGV vehicles, ideally within a delivery or distribution environment.
* A good understanding of road safety regulations and safe driving practices.
* Strong navigation skills and experience using GPS or route-planning systems.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* A professional, reliable, and safety-conscious approach to work.
