How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

At Southern Housing, we are looking for a Procurement Manager to help shape and deliver our annual procurement pipeline. This is a great opportunity for a procurement professional who wants to broaden their experience, work across a varied pipeline of projects, and play a key role in embedding compliant, commercial and socially responsible procurement across Southern Housing.

    Why join Southern Housing?
You will join a supportive and knowledgeable procurement team at a time of change and opportunity. You will have the chance to work on a varied pipeline of projects, build strong relationships across the business, contribute to better outcomes for residents, and develop your expertise in public procurement, sustainability and social value.

    What you’ll be doing:

    * Support the delivery of our annual tendering and procurement activity through eProcurement systems

    * Support procurement training and provide guidance on policies and procedures

    * Involve residents in procurement planning and project co-creation

    * Support contract awards and prepare contract management documentation

    * Record and report on social, environmental and economic value delivered through the supply chain

    * Build strong relationships with stakeholders to support effective procurement activity

    * Promote opportunities to SMEs through market engagement and supplier networks

This role can be based in any of our offices and will require attendance at our Farringdon office (London) for team meetings. This is a hybrid working role with the option to work from home 3 days per week. Home-working days will be agreed with your line manager.

    What you’ll need:

    * Strong knowledge of procurement processes and procedures

    * Understanding of Procurement Act 2023, Public Contracts Regulations 2015, Social Value (Public Services) Act 2012 and relevant Procurement Policy Notes

    * Experience of contract management and a good understanding of contract terms and conditions

    * Knowledge of social value and sustainable procurement as well as understanding of the housing sector

    * CIPS Level 4 Diploma (or equivalent experience), with willingness to work towards the Advanced Diploma

    * Strong IT skills, including MS Office, eProcurement and purchase-to-pay systems

    * Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills

    * Ability to work independently, manage priorities and interpret financial data to support value-for-money outcomes

In your supporting statement, it is important that you address how you meet each of the above eight criteria providing real examples.

Closing Date: 7 July 2026 (Tuesday) at 23:59

    Shortlisting Date: 9 July 2026

Interview Dates: in-person interviews will be 15 July 2026 at our Farringdon Office (London)

Please note: We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive a high volume of applications. We encourage you to submit your application and supporting statement as soon as possible so your application can be reviewed and considered.
