How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Quantity Surveyor | New Build Housing | Kent

    This regional contractor has secured two new projects in Kent and has an immediate need for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their surveying team and be responsible for both projects.

    This Senior Quantity Surveyor position would best suit applicants with main contracting, housing building experience. You could be a Project Quantity Surveyor who is on the cusp of a quick promotion to Senior Quantity Surveyor or already proven in the role.

    You will be office based in the office near Bromley, Kent and you will have weekly site visits to your respective projects, which are also in Kent.

    The first project you will be responsible for as Senior Quantity Surveyor is near to Chatham and consists of 75 new houses for a housing association client.

    The second is 25 new homes for a private build to rent client in Sevenoaks. It is expected you will work 3 days a week over both sites and 2 in the office.

    As Senior Quantity Surveyor you ;

    Have experience of working with the client
    Capable of challenging designs
    Value Engineering
    Managing sub-contractors
    All commercial activities on projects
    For this Senior Quantity Surveyor role you will come from a main contracting background and will have worked on similar or larger schemes for regional contractors. Applicants must have a UK Quantity Surveying qualification and live within a reasonable commute from the office and projects.
