How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Head of Operations – Milton Keynes
    £80m Turnover Main Contractor
    Cladding Remediation & Decarbonisation Projects

    Company Overview

    Our client is an established and rapidly growing main contractor with an annual turnover of approximately £80m, specialising in cladding remediation, replacement schemes, and decarbonisation works across the UK. With a strong pipeline of secured projects and continued investment into operational growth, they are looking to strengthen their senior leadership team with the appointment of a Head of Operations.

    The business has built a strong reputation within the refurbishment and energy efficiency market, delivering large-scale external envelope and retrofit programmes for both public and private sector clients. With the market continuing to grow, this role offers a genuine opportunity to influence operational performance and contribute towards the next stage of the company’s expansion.

    Role Overview

    The Head of Operations will take responsibility for overseeing all operational delivery across the region, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and to the expected quality standards.

    This is a senior leadership position reporting directly into the Regional Director, with responsibility for managing a team of Operations Managers and Contracts Managers across multiple live projects.

    The successful individual will work closely alongside the Commercial Manager and wider leadership team, helping to develop operational processes, improve team performance, and support the continued growth of the business.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Oversee all operational delivery across cladding remediation and decarbonisation projects

    * Lead and manage Operations Managers and Contracts Managers across the region

    * Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme expectations

    * Work closely with the Regional Director to drive operational performance

    * Collaborate with the Commercial Manager to ensure strong project controls and commercial awareness

    * Support recruitment, mentoring, and development of operational teams

    * Help shape and improve operational procedures and delivery standards

    * Maintain strong client relationships and support business growth initiatives

    * Ensure compliance across all health & safety and quality standards

    Candidate Profile

    * Proven operational leadership experience within a main contractor environment

    * Strong background delivering cladding remediation, façade, retrofit, refurbishment, or decarbonisation works

    * Experience managing multiple operational teams and projects simultaneously

    * Commercially aware with the ability to work collaboratively alongside commercial teams

    * Strong leadership and people management skills

    * Ability to drive performance and support business growth

    * Comfortable operating within a fast-growing contractor environment
