How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Start Date: September 2026
    Hours: Full-Time, Term Time Only

Are you a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs?

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Bournemouth is seeking enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistants to join their specialist SEND Provision from September. This is a full-time opportunity to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a nurturing and well-resourced environment.

The successful candidates will work closely with teachers, SEND professionals and pastoral staff to provide tailored support that enables pupils to thrive both academically and socially.

    The Role:

Supporting pupils with ASC and SEMH needs within a specialist SEND Provision
Delivering targeted interventions and personalised learning activities
Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
Promoting emotional regulation, independence and engagement in learning
Working collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists and families
Supporting pupils both within the provision and during integration opportunities across the school

    The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience working with children with SEND, particularly ASC and/or SEMH
A calm, patient and resilient approach
    Strong communication and relationship-building skills
The ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual needs
A genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential
Previous experience within a school, SEND provision or similar setting is desirable

    What the School Offers:

A supportive and experienced leadership team
Excellent training and professional development opportunities
    A well-resourced specialist provision
A collaborative and welcoming staff team
The opportunity to make a lasting impact on pupils' educational journeys

This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants, support workers, graduates considering a career in education, or individuals looking to further develop their SEND experience within a highly supportive primary school setting.
