How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Smile Education are proud to be supporting a high-performing secondary school within a successful and growing Multi-Academy Trust in their search for an enthusiastic and dedicated Physics Teacher to join their Science department from September 2026.

    This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to teach Physics within a well-resourced and supportive environment that places a strong emphasis on academic excellence, staff development and student achievement. The role is initially offered on a long-term basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract for the right candidate.

    The RoleThe successful candidate will:

    Teach Physics across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for suitably experienced candidates.
    Deliver engaging and challenging lessons that inspire a love of Science.
    Support students of all abilities to achieve excellent outcomes.
    Contribute to the wider life of the Science department and school community.
    Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.The Ideal CandidateWe are looking for:

    A qualified Physics Teacher (QTS/QTLS or equivalent).
