How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

BSL Teaching Assistant - Newham - £95 to £120 Daily Rate - Full Time - September Start - Primary School

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a dedicated and experienced BSL Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Newham. This full-time, long-term role is available for a September start and offers a competitive daily rate of £95 to £120, depending on experience. The successful candidate will provide 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with hearing impairment, helping them to access learning and prepare for the transition to secondary school.

Do you have experience using British Sign Language (BSL) within an educational setting?
Have you supported pupils with hearing impairments on a 1:1 basis?
Are you passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential?

If so, this could be the ideal role for you.

The Role - BSL Teaching Assistant
As a BSL Teaching Assistant, you will provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 6 pupil with a hearing impairment throughout the school day. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and external professionals to ensure the pupil can fully access the curriculum and participate in all aspects of school life.

The role will involve using British Sign Language to support communication, adapting learning materials where necessary, reinforcing lesson content, and promoting the pupil's independence and confidence. You will play a vital role in supporting both the academic and social development of the child, helping them to make continued progress during their final year of primary education.

    The School - Newham
This welcoming and inclusive primary school is committed to ensuring every child receives the support they need to succeed. The school has a strong reputation within the local community and provides a nurturing learning environment where pupils are encouraged to achieve their full potential. Staff benefit from supportive leadership, excellent resources, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
