How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

An award-winning, design-led architectural practice in Sheffield is seeking an Architectural Technologist with around 5 years' post-qualification experience to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically focused individual who is passionate about creating thoughtful, context-driven architecture across homes, neighbourhoods and places. You'll contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects including sustainable residential neighbourhoods, bespoke contemporary homes, mixed-use regeneration schemes, and innovative net-zero developments, all underpinned by a commitment to design quality and environmental responsibility.

Now in their 21st year of operation, the practice has established itself as a respected multi-disciplinary consultancy, with thriving studios in Sheffield and Manchester. Alongside their Architects and Designers, they offer specialist in-house expertise, creating a highly collaborative environment that supports the successful delivery of projects from concept through to completion.

The practice offers a progressive and supportive culture where professional development is actively encouraged. With a strong emphasis on work-life balance, employees benefit from flexible working arrangements and a hybrid model that combines the advantages of studio collaboration with remote working flexibility.

    The Role

As an Architectural Technologist, you will play a key role in the technical development and delivery of projects across a variety of sectors, with a strong focus on residential and placemaking schemes.

Working closely with Architects, Urban Designers and Consultants, you will contribute to projects across all RIBA stages, producing coordinated technical information and helping to ensure design intent is successfully translated into buildable, high-quality outcomes.

This position would suit someone who enjoys problem-solving, has a strong technical grounding, and is keen to broaden their experience across homes, neighbourhoods and wider community-focused developments.

    Key Responsibilities

Assist in the technical delivery of projects across all RIBA work stages.

Produce detailed technical drawings, specifications and construction information.

Develop and coordinate design solutions with internal teams and external consultants.

Support project delivery from planning through to construction.

Ensure compliance with current Building Regulations, legislation and industry standards.

Attend project and site meetings, assisting with contract administration and site coordination where required.

Contribute to the successful delivery of residential, mixed-use and regeneration projects.

Support the practice's commitment to sustainability and low-carbon design principles.

Collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary project teams.

    Skills & Experience Required

Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology.

Approximately 5 years' post-qualification experience within an architectural practice.

Strong technical knowledge and understanding of UK construction methods, detailing and Building Regulations.

Experience working on residential, housing, mixed-use or placemaking projects would be advantageous.

    Proficiency in REVIT is essential.

Working knowledge of AutoCAD and other industry-standard software.

Experience producing coordinated technical packages and construction information.

    Good communication and collaboration skills.

Organised, proactive and able to manage workload across multiple projects.

A genuine interest in sustainable design and creating places that have a positive long-term impact.

    What's on Offer

    Salary £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience.

    Hybrid and flexible working arrangements.

Excellent career development opportunities within a growing practice.

Exposure to a varied and high-quality project portfolio.

    Supportive, collaborative studio environment.

    Generous benefits package.

Opportunity to help shape sustainable homes, neighbourhoods and places across the UK.

Interested parties should apply with an up-to-date CV and portfolio. For further information, please contact James Jackson at Conrad Consulting
