How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you a passionate Design & Technology Teacher looking for a role where you can make a real difference?

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Design Technology Teacher to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) setting from September. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and resilient teacher who enjoys practical learning and wants to support young people who may have experienced barriers within mainstream education.

The role will initially begin through agency, with a view to becoming a permanent position for the right candidate.

The setting supports pupils with SEMH needs and provides a nurturing, structured environment where relationships, confidence-building and engagement are at the heart of learning.

    The Role

You will be responsible for delivering engaging Design & Technology lessons, helping students develop practical skills, creativity and confidence through hands-on learning.

    You will:

Teach Design & Technology across KS3/KS4 (experience with practical subjects such as Construction, Product Design, Resistant Materials or similar is desirable)
Plan and deliver accessible, engaging lessons tailored to individual needs
Build positive relationships with pupils and support their emotional and academic development
Create a safe, inclusive and encouraging workshop environment
Work collaboratively with support staff and wider pastoral teams

    The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience teaching Design & Technology (QTS preferred, but experienced instructors/teachers may be considered)
Has experience working with SEMH, SEND, PRU or challenging behaviour settings (desirable)
Is patient, adaptable and passionate about helping young people succeed
Can engage pupils through practical, creative learning
Has strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills

    What's on Offer

    ✅ Full-time position
    ✅ September start
    ✅ £200+ per day
✅ Agency placement initially with temp-to-perm pathway
✅ Opportunity to secure a permanent role
    ✅ Supportive specialist environment
✅ Chance to make a genuine impact on young people's lives

If you are a Design Technology specialist who believes practical learning can transform outcomes for young people, we would love to hear from you.
