How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A leading property consultancy is seeking a Building Surveyor to join their London Building Surveying team based from their City office. This is an excellent opportunity for a Building Surveyor to work across a diverse range of commercial property projects, delivering both professional Building Surveying instructions and project work. The successful Building Surveyor will undertake a broad range of Building Surveying services, working with investor and occupier clients across multiple sectors.

The Building Surveyor will work alongside experienced property professionals, contributing to project delivery, client development and business growth initiatives. This role offers a varied workload and the opportunity to work across a broad client portfolio.

    The Role

    As the Building Surveyor, you will deliver a range of professional and project-led Building Surveying services across commercial property assets.

    The role will include:

    * Delivering core Building Surveying services with a focus on contract administration and refurbishment projects

    * Undertaking professional Building Surveying instructions across a range of property types

    * Managing refurbishment projects from inception through to completion

    * Building and maintaining strong client relationships

    * Identifying and supporting new business opportunities

    * Managing assignments for investor and occupier clients

    * Preparing reports, specifications and project documentation

    * Delivering projects in line with agreed timescales and budgets

    * Supporting fee generation and financial targets

    The Building Surveyor?

    You will be an experienced Building Surveyor with a background in both professional and project-led Building Surveying services within a consultancy environment.

    The Building Surveyor must have:

    * A degree in Building Surveying or a related property or construction discipline

    * Experience delivering professional and project-based Building Surveying services

    * Strong contract administration and refurbishment project experience

    * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    * Ability to manage workload effectively and meet project deadlines

    * Experience working independently and within a team environment

    * Strong client-facing and relationship management skills
