Aztrum are pleased to be partnering with a growing consultancy based in Leicester that is looking to appoint an experienced CDM Principal Designer. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive health and safety professional with a strong understanding of CDM 2015 Regulations to join a collaborative team working across a diverse range of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities for this CDM Principal Designer role:
Act as the Principal Designer in accordance with CDM 2015 Regulations
Plan, manage, monitor, and coordinate health and safety throughout the pre-construction phase
Identify, eliminate, or reduce foreseeable design risks through effective risk management
Coordinate with clients, designers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure statutory compliance
Prepare Pre-Construction Information (PCI)
Ensure designers fulfil their duties under CDM 2015
Lead design risk review meetings and workshops
Liaise with Principal Contractors to support effective risk management throughout projects
Prepare, review, and hand over the Health & Safety File upon project completion
Advise clients on their responsibilities under CDM Regulations
Keep up to date with health and safety legislation and industry best practice
Support the business with accreditation processes where requiredKey Requirements for this CDM Principal Designer role:
Minimum of 7 years' experience within a CDM, Health & Safety, or Design role in the construction industry
Strong working knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent Health & Safety qualification)
Professional membership with IOSH, APS, or similar is desirable
Experience working on Commercial, Residential, Education, Infrastructure, or similar projects
Strong understanding of construction design processes and risk mitigation principles
