As Registered Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping service quality, developing staff, strengthening best practice, and ensuring residents receive safe, effective, person-centred care.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, management, and performance of a CQC-regulated mental health residential service.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing visible and supportive leadership to the staff team
* Ensuring the service consistently meets CQC standards and regulatory requirements
* Driving high-quality, recovery-focused and person-centred support
* Leading safeguarding, risk management, incident reporting, and quality assurance processes
* Supporting and developing staff through supervision, coaching, and performance management
* Managing service performance, budgets, and operational outcomes
* Building positive relationships with residents, families, commissioners, healthcare professionals, and regulators
* Leading service improvement initiatives and embedding best practice across the service
* Promoting independence, social inclusion, and positive outcomes for residents
* Ensuring safe staffing levels and effective service delivery
* Leading on inspections, audits, compliance activity, and continuous improvement plans
Essential
* Previous experience as a CQC Registered Manager within an adult social care or mental health service
* Strong understanding of CQC regulations, safeguarding, risk management, and mental health support practices
* Experience leading teams through service improvement, change, and quality enhancement
* Strong people management, coaching, and performance management skills
* Experience managing service performance, operational budgets, and quality assurance processes
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
* The ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, commissioners, healthcare professionals, and regulators
* A commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred and recovery-focused care
Desirable
* NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management (or equivalent)
* Experience supporting services through CQC inspections and improvement programmes
* Additional relevant professional qualifications or memberships
