Senior Building Surveyor

A property investment and asset management business is seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to join its growing property team. This is an opportunity for a Senior Building Surveyor to take ownership of a varied project portfolio, delivering refurbishment, development and asset improvement works across commercial property holdings. The successful Building Surveyor will manage projects from inception through to completion while providing technical and commercial advice to internal stakeholders. This Building Surveyor position offers exposure to high-value capital projects, significant stakeholder engagement and the chance to influence asset performance through effective Building Surveying expertise.

The Company?

The successful Building Surveyor will be joining a well-established property organisation with an active pipeline of refurbishment and development projects. The Building Surveyor will work closely with Asset Managers, Facilities Management teams and external consultants to deliver projects that protect and enhance asset value. This role offers a broad Building Surveying remit with responsibility for both project delivery and professional surveying matters.

The Role

As the Senior Building Surveyor, you will take ownership of refurbishment, repair and development projects across a commercial property portfolio.

The role will include:

* Leading refurbishment, repair and development projects from inception through to completion and handover

* Managing project programmes, budgets and cashflow forecasts

* Undertaking contract administration duties including instructions, variations, notices and certification

* Preparing and managing design, tender and contract documentation

* Managing procurement processes and contractor appointments

* Ensuring compliance with planning, Building Control, CDM and Party Wall requirements

* Monitoring project risks, programme updates and change management processes

* Providing technical and commercial advice on defects, refurbishment strategies and asset improvement projects

* Undertaking inspections and diagnosing building defects

* Supporting acquisition and investment decisions through technical due diligence

* Managing consultants, contractors and design teams throughout project delivery

* Overseeing Party Wall matters including notices and awards

The Senior Building Surveyor?

You will be an experienced Building Surveyor with a strong background in commercial property and a proven track record delivering refurbishment and capital projects.

The Senior Building Surveyor must have:

* A degree in Building Surveying or a related construction or property discipline

* Strong Building Surveying experience within the commercial property sector

* Proven experience delivering refurbishment and development projects

* Experience undertaking contract administration duties

* Strong understanding of construction technology and defect diagnosis

* Knowledge of planning, Building Control, CDM and Party Wall legislation

* Experience managing consultants, contractors and external stakeholders

* Strong commercial awareness and project cost control experience
