How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    CDM Principal Designer

    A well-established, multi-disciplinary construction consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering some of the UK's most interesting and complex projects is now seeking a confident CDM Principal Designer to join their growing team.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a CDM Principal Designer who wants to work across a varied portfolio of high-quality projects, while joining a consultancy that offers a great work-life balance and long-term career development.

    The successful CDM Principal Designer will be working with a range of long-standing clients, many of whom provide consistent repeat business. This will give you the chance to build strong client relationships, take ownership of key accounts, and become a trusted advisor across a variety of sectors.

    This role would suit a CDM Principal Designer who enjoys leading on complex projects, but does not want to sacrifice flexibility, autonomy or balance in their day-to-day role.

    The Role

    The successful CDM Principal Designer will take a lead role in identifying, managing and mitigating design risk from the earliest stages of a project. You will be responsible for delivering CDM Principal Designer duties across a broad range of schemes, working closely with design teams, clients and contractors to ensure a smooth and compliant process throughout.

    You will also be expected to manage CDM-related documentation, provide clear advice to project teams, and ensure information is effectively handed over to the Principal Contractor.

    The Person

    The successful CDM Principal Designer will ideally have:

    At least 2 years' experience working in a CDM Principal Designer capacity
    * A proven track record delivering projects as the sole CDM Principal Designer
    * Experience working across a variety of sectors and project types
    * Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations
    * Excellent communication and client-facing skills
    * Membership with APS and/or IOSH, such as Tech IOSH or IMaPSIn Return?

    The salary and package are negotiable dependant on your experience, qualifications and ability but as a guide:

    Up to £50,000 - £55,000per annum
