How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: London (Hybrid)

    The Opportunity

    Are you looking to build a career in financial tech, regulation, or public policy? We are seeking a Payments Policy Analyst to join our growing team.

    This role is ideal for a professional with up to two years of experience. You will work directly on policy issues shaping European and international payments, helping the UK maintain its position as a global leader in cross-border finance.

    Previous specialist payments experience is not required; we value potential, analytical capability, and curiosity.

    What You’ll Do

    * Monitor & Analyse: Track UK, European, and international regulatory and market developments.

    * Policy Creation: Draft consultation responses, industry papers, and thought-leadership pieces.

    * Stakeholder Engagement: Support member working groups, committees, and international partner meetings.

    * Briefings: Prepare high-quality presentations, reports, and meeting papers for senior executives.

    * Project Support: Collaborate on strategic projects across the wider payments portfolio.

    What We Are Looking For

    Essential Criteria:

    * Experience: Up to 2 years of professional experience in policy, research, regulatory affairs, financial services, or consultancy.

    * Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to simplify complex topics.

    * Analytical Skills: Strong research capability to synthesise data into clear, structured insights.

    * Organisation: Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

    * Tools: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

    * Interest: A genuine passion for finance, technology, regulation, or public policy.

    Desirable Criteria:

    * Background in financial services, fintech, government, a regulator, or a membership body.

    * Basic awareness of the UK, European, or international payments landscape.

    * Experience supporting committees, working groups, or events.

    * A degree in Economics, Politics, International Relations, Law, Business, or Finance.

    Personal Attributes:

    * Curious, proactive, and eager to learn.

    * Solutions-focused and comfortable working independently or in a team.
