Job Responsibilities
Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the children's residential service, ensuring high standards of care and safety.
Oversee the development and implementation of individual care plans tailored to each child's needs.
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures governing children's residential care.
Supervise and support a team of care staff, fostering a positive and professional working environment.
Conduct regular staff appraisals, training, and development to maintain a skilled and motivated team.
Build and maintain strong relationships with children, families, social workers, and external agencies.
Manage the service's budget, resources, and administrative tasks efficiently.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and best practice within the service.
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children and staff at all times.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce (or equivalent) is essential; Level 5 in Leadership and Management is highly desirable.
Proven experience in managing a children's residential service or similar setting.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and safeguarding procedures.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building effective relationships with children, families, and professionals.
Ability to manage budgets and administrative responsibilities efficiently.
Resilience, empathy, and a genuine passion for making a positive difference in young people's lives.
Relevant certifications such as First Aid, Safeguarding, and Manual Handling are required.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
