How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Part-Time Student/ Graduate Teaching Assistant

    Bath and surrounding areas | Flexible 1–5 days per week | £92.63 per day (£14.25 per hour)| Term-time only

    Are you studying at the University of Bath or Bath Spa University and looking for flexible, rewarding work that fits around your lectures, placements, or other commitments?

    Axcis Education is recruiting enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to work as Teaching Assistants in Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools across Bath. Whether you're looking to gain experience alongside your studies or build a career working with children, this role offers valuable hands-on experience in education.

    You'll support pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. Every day is different, and you'll play a key role in helping children develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.

    Why Join Axcis Education?

    * Flexible working to fit around university, placements, or other commitments

    * Choose from 1–5 days per week

    * £92.63 per day

    * Weekly pay every Friday

    * Free CPD training, including Autism Awareness and Safeguarding

    * Dedicated local consultant with strong relationships across Bath schools

    * Opportunities to secure long-term and permanent school positions

    * Excellent experience for careers in teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, social work, occupational therapy, and youth work

    Who We're Looking For

    This role is perfect for students, graduates, or anyone with a genuine passion for supporting children and young people.

    We're particularly interested in hearing from:

    * Students and graduates from the University of Bath or Bath Spa University

    * Individuals studying Psychology, Education, Criminology, Health & Social Care, Sport, Childhood Studies, or related subjects

    * People with previous experience working with children, whether through volunteering, coaching, tutoring, childcare, youth work, or support work

    * Candidates who are patient, reliable, and keen to make a positive impact

    A driving licence and access to a vehicle is highly desirable, as some of the schools we work with are located in rural areas around Bath and can be difficult to access using public transport alone.

    Apply Today

    If you're looking for flexible, meaningful work that fits around your studies while helping you gain valuable experience with children and young people, we'd love to hear from you. Join Axcis Education and start making a difference in local schools across Bath
