How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Civil Engineer
    Leeds - Hybrid Working

An established, multi-disciplinary Consultancy with an excellent reputation across the UK is looking to appoint a Civil Engineer to join its growing Infrastructure team in Leeds.

Working as part of a highly experienced team, you will be involved in the design and delivery of residential, commercial and mixed-use developments from planning through to construction. This is an excellent opportunity for an Engineer looking to take the next step in their career, gaining exposure to a broad range of projects whilst developing both their technical and project management skills. The role sits within a growing Property and Infrastructure team and offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced Engineers who will support your ongoing development.

You will contribute to the design of drainage, highways and development infrastructure schemes, including SuDS, surface and foul water drainage, levels, earthworks and external works. The role will involve preparing technical designs and drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, undertaking drainage modelling using MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage and supporting projects through feasibility, planning, detailed design and construction stages.

You will work closely with clients, local authorities, LLFAs, water companies and internal multidisciplinary teams, gaining valuable exposure to the full project lifecycle whilst developing your understanding of development infrastructure delivery. There will also be opportunities to support Graduate Engineers and collaborate with teams across transport planning, structural engineering and environmental disciplines.

To be considered, you should have experience within a UK Consultancy environment and a good understanding of highways and drainage design for development projects. Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage would be advantageous, alongside knowledge of Section Agreements including S104, S106, S38 and S278. Strong communication skills and the desire to continue developing technically and professionally are essential.

In return, you will join a Consultancy that genuinely invests in its people. Alongside a competitive salary and benefits package, you will benefit from hybrid working, structured training, chartership support, funded professional memberships and a clear pathway for progression as your career develops. The business has an excellent reputation for supporting Engineers through to Senior level and beyond whilst providing exposure to a varied and technically challenging project portfolio.
