How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Maintenance Engineer
    4on 4off days
    Cambridge
    Up to £50,000

Ready to leave the night shifts behind?

If you're looking for a role that gives you more time with family, a better work-life balance and the chance to build a long-term career with a business that genuinely invests in its people, this could be exactly what you're looking for.

We're recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join a food manufacturer producing products you'll recognise from supermarket shelves across the UK. More importantly, you'll be joining a business with a genuine family feel, where attitude is valued just as highly as technical ability.

    Why make the move?

    Up to £50,000 salary
4 on 4 off days - no nights, better work-life balance
Join a close-knit engineering team where everyone pulls together
Work for a stable business with a strong reputation and continued investment
Training and development tailored to your career goals
A company that looks for the right person, not just the perfect CV
    About the Role
This is a hands-on maintenance position supporting a busy manufacturing operation, carrying out planned maintenance, responding to breakdowns and helping improve equipment reliability across the site.
You'll be working on a variety of production machinery while contributing to continuous improvement projects and helping keep production running efficiently.

    Who We're Looking For
The hiring manager isn't expecting you to know everything from day one.
They're looking for someone with the right attitude-someone who enjoys solving problems, takes pride in their work and wants to continue developing their engineering skills.
    You'll ideally have:

A recognised Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification
Experience within manufacturing, FMCG or industrial maintenance
Good electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
A proactive approach and willingness to learn
A team-first mentality and a positive attitudeExperience with PLCs, food manufacturing or maintenance systems is beneficial, but if you're eager to learn, you'll be supported every step of the way.

Build a Career, Not Just Find Another Job

This is the kind of business where engineers stay because they're valued. You'll be given the opportunity to broaden your skills, take on new challenges and progress your career within a supportive environment that recognises hard work and commitment.

If you're looking to swap nights for a better lifestyle without compromising on salary or career progression, we'd love to hear from you.
