How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Production Manager

    šŸ“ Full Time | Permanent | Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm

    Perfect Personnel are a recruitment agency acting on behalf of our client, an established and growing business within the food manufacturing and logistics sector.

    Our client is launching an exciting new produce processing and food repacking division and is looking to appoint an experienced Production Manager to lead and develop the operation from the ground up.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on and commercially minded leader who is passionate about food safety, operational excellence and building high-performing teams.

    Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take ownership of the production operation, ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

    The Role

    As Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, driving continuous improvement and ensuring operational targets are achieved while maintaining exceptional food safety and quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    Production Management

    Lead and manage day-to-day production operations to ensure customer orders are delivered on time and in full.

    Monitor production performance against key operational targets.

    Maximise the efficient use of labour, equipment and raw materials.

    Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce waste.

    Food Safety & Quality

    Ensure compliance with all food safety, legal and customer requirements.

    Support and maintain HACCP, GMP and site quality management systems.

    Work closely with Technical and Quality teams to investigate non-conformances and implement corrective actions.

    Promote a strong food safety and quality culture throughout the business.

    Leadership & Team Development

    Lead, motivate and develop production supervisors and operational teams.

    Conduct performance reviews and identify training and development opportunities.

    Manage attendance, employee relations and performance matters in line with company policies.

    Create a positive, inclusive and collaborative working environment.

    Health & Safety

    Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation and company procedures.

    Conduct risk assessments and support accident investigations where required.

    Promote safe working practices across all production areas.

    Ensure employees receive appropriate training and supervision.

    Operational Performance

    Monitor and improve key performance indicators, including:

    Labour efficiency

    Productivity

    Yield

    Waste reduction

    Equipment downtime

    Customer service performance

    You will also identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvements and support future investment projects.

    Inventory & Resource Management

    Work closely with Planning, Procurement and Warehouse teams to ensure materials are available when required.

    Monitor stock usage and minimise waste.

    Support accurate inventory management processes.

    About You

    We are looking for an experienced leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and can inspire teams to achieve outstanding results.

    Essential Skills & Experience

    Previous experience as a Production Manager or in a similar manufacturing leadership role.

    Strong knowledge of food manufacturing processes.

    Excellent understanding of HACCP, GMP and food safety legislation.

    Proven experience managing teams within a fast-paced production environment.

    Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

    Experience managing KPIs and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

    Desirable Experience

    Experience supplying UK supermarkets or major retail customers.

    Knowledge of BRCGS Food Safety Standards.

    Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.

    A food manufacturing qualification or relevant degree.
