How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    TIG Welder / Fabricator

    Didcot, Oxfordshire

    £32,250 - £38,500 per annum (including shift allowance, dependent on experience)

    Shift Pattern

    Monday to Thursday

    • Early Shift: 05:45 - 13:45
    • Late Shift: 14:15 - 22:25

    Friday

    Due to continued growth and increasing demand, our client is looking to recruit an experienced TIG Welder / Fabricator to join their skilled production team.     The Role

    As a Production Technician (Welder/Fabricator), you will be responsible for carrying out a mixture of welding, fabrication and production activities to support the manufacture of high-quality engineered products. You will work to strict quality and safety standards while contributing to the ongoing success and continuous improvement of the production operation.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Carrying out TIG welding to a high standard
    • Supporting MIG welding activities where required
    • Working from engineering drawings, technical specifications and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
    • Maintaining and working towards company welding qualifications and coded welding standards
    • Fabricating, assembling and finishing precision engineered components
    • Completing grinding, forming and material preparation activities
    • Supporting additional manufacturing processes as required
    • Operating overhead cranes and production equipment (training available where required)
    • Working closely with production, engineering and support teams
    • Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards
    • Contributing towards continuous improvement initiatives and problem-solving activities across the business

    What We're Looking For

    Essential

    • Previous TIG welding experience
    • Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment
    • Experience with a range of fabrication techniques
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
    • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
    • Flexible approach and willingness to learn new processes and products
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

    Desirable

    • Previous MIG welding experience
    • Experience working to coded welding standards
    • Experience working on pressure vessels or similar specialist fabrications
    • Overhead crane experience
    • Engineering or welding qualifications
