How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Quantity Surveyor
    Nottingham (Office Based + Local Site Visits)
    £40,000 - £50,000 + Bonus + Early Friday Finish + Two-Week Christmas Shutdown + Flexible Environment

    This is a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established family-run housebuilder with a strong pipeline of work and ambitious plans for steady growth.

    This is a successful residential developer delivering quality housing developments across Nottinghamshire. With four active sites and a substantial land bank for future projects, the business is looking to strengthen its commercial team with the addition of a Quantity Surveyor.

    In this role, you will oversee valuations, budgets, subcontractor procurement, payment processing, cost reporting, tendering, and regular site visits.

    The ideal candidate will be commercially aware, organised, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities across several live projects. Strong communication skills and a solid understanding of construction processes are essential.

    The Role:

    Manage valuations and cost reporting
    Prepare and monitor project budgets
    Place orders with subcontractors and process subcontractor payments
    Assist with tender preparation and analysis
    Conduct site visits across local developments
    The Person:

    Quantity Surveying experience within construction (Housebuilding experience desirable)
    Experience managing valuations and budgets
    Experience procuring subcontractors and processing payments
    COINS experience preferred
