How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Salary: £42,000 - £44,000 DOE + Call Out Allowance
Benefits: Company Vehicle, Private Healthcare, Life Assurance, Training & Development

    The Opportunity

A specialist building services organisation is seeking an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to join their mobile engineering team, supporting a portfolio of commercial clients across London and the surrounding Home Counties.

This is an excellent opportunity for an established Air Conditioning Engineer who takes pride in delivering a high-quality service, enjoys working independently, and wants to be part of a professional engineering environment where technical ability and customer service are equally valued.

The successful Air Conditioning Engineer will be responsible for planned maintenance, fault diagnosis, repairs, and reactive support across a range of commercial HVAC systems.

    The Role

As an Air Conditioning Engineer, you will be responsible for attending customer sites to complete preventative maintenance, breakdown response, and remedial works on a variety of commercial air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

The role will involve working with systems including VRF and VRV equipment, split and multi-split units, ventilation systems, fan coil units, and associated HVAC plant.

The appointed Air Conditioning Engineer will manage their own workload, complete service documentation accurately, communicate professionally with customers, and ensure all works are completed safely and to a high standard.

You will also support reactive call outs when required as part of a rota system, with additional technical support available for more complex issues.

    Responsibilities

The successful Air Conditioning Engineer will carry out planned preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, complete repairs, and support customers with ongoing HVAC requirements.

You will be expected to maintain strong relationships with clients, provide clear updates on works completed, and represent the business professionally while working on customer sites.

The role will include maintaining commercial air conditioning systems, identifying potential issues before failure occurs, and supporting improvements that enhance system reliability and efficiency.

The Air Conditioning Engineer will also be required to complete accurate reports, follow health and safety procedures, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

    Experience Required

We are looking for an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer with a strong background in commercial maintenance environments.

Candidates should have hands-on experience working with:

    VRV / VRF systems
Split and multi-split air conditioning units
    Commercial ventilation systems
2 pipe and 4 pipe fan coil units
    Heat pumps (desirable)
    Commercial refrigeration equipment (desirable)

A successful Air Conditioning Engineer will have previous experience fault finding, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems across different manufacturers and equipment types.

Experience responding to reactive breakdowns and customer call outs would be advantageous.

    Qualifications

The ideal Air Conditioning Engineer will hold relevant industry qualifications, including:

NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
City & Guilds Refrigeration and Air Conditioning qualification
    F-Gas Certification

Additional qualifications such as IPAF, PASMA, or relevant access equipment training would be beneficial.

    The Ideal Candidate

This role would suit an Air Conditioning Engineer who is reliable, customer-focused, and takes ownership of their work.

You will need excellent communication skills, a professional approach, and the ability to work independently while maintaining strong relationships with both clients and colleagues.

The successful Air Conditioning Engineer will demonstrate a positive attitude, strong technical knowledge, and a commitment to delivering excellent service.

    Package

The appointed Air Conditioning Engineer will receive:

Competitive basic salary (£42,000 - £44,000 depending on experience)
    Door-to-door travel payment
Call out allowance (£125 per week on rota basis)
    Company van and fuel support
    Mobile phone and IT equipment
    Professional uniform
    Manufacturer-led training and development
    Private healthcare
    Life assurance
