We are currently recruiting for an experienced and proactive Transport Resource Planner to join a busy and fast-paced transport operation in Stoke on Trent. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised individual with strong planning skills to play a key role in ensuring the effective utilisation of drivers, vehicles and trailers while maintaining high levels of customer service and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities of this Transport Planner:
Produce and manage daily transport resource plans to ensure customer requirements are met.
Allocate drivers, vehicles and trailers effectively to maximise operational efficiency.
Monitor transport operations and make real-time adjustments to maintain service levels.
Manage driver availability, annual leave and agency requirements.
Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Support transport administration, compliance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure all planning activities are carried out in line with company procedures and legislative requirements.
Skills and Experience Required for this Transport Planner:
Previous experience within a transport planning or resource planning role.
Strong geographical knowledge and route planning capability.
Good understanding of Drivers’ Hours Regulations and the Working Time Directive.
Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
Experience using TachoMaster and Paragon systems is essential.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and organisational skills with a customer-focused approach.

Hours: Full Time – Rotating Shifts (06:00-14:00, 08:00-16:00 and 12:00-20:00)
Pay Rate: £15.51 per hour
