Role Overview:
We are currently seeking experienced Steel Fixers to join our team in Oxford. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in steel fixing, with a proven track record of working on large-scale RC frame and civil projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Read drawings: Read and interpret working drawings and steel lists for the job to ensure accurate execution.
* Set Out Work: Set out the work from these instructions, ensuring all measurements and alignments are precise.
* Cutting Steel: Make steel bars or mesh to the required length by cutting them with power saws or other tools.
* Assemble Reinforcement: Assemble the reinforcing bars or mesh by tying them into predetermined locations within the concrete structures.
* Prefab Steel Reinforcement: Prefabricate steel reinforcement into beams, cages, pile caps, columns, and walls as required.
* Join Prefabricated Units: Join prefabricated units together for large sections of high-rise or civil projects and position the reinforcement ready for concrete pours.
To Be Successful for This Steel Fixer Job, You Must Have:
* Valid CSCS Card.
* Proof of right to work in the UK.
* Be physically fit for duties around a construction site.
* Be reliable and punctual.
* Hard working.
* Respectful.
* A good team player.
* Previous experience as a Steel Fixer.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* NVQ in Steel Fixing (Preferred).
* Steel Fixing Experience: 2 years (Preferred).
* Able to operate in a flexible and adaptable manner and work as part of a team.
* Open to attending training programmes to increase individual skills and knowledge.
