How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Technical Proposals Engineer

    Deeside Industrial Estate

    Salary: Up to £45,000 based on experience

    Due to continued growth, eXcent UK is looking for a Technical Proposals Engineer to join our Bid & Tender Team.

    This is a key position within the business, acting as the link between our customers, Design Engineers and Supply Chain partners. You will be responsible for reviewing customer enquiries, interpreting technical requirements and developing commercially competitive proposals for complex engineering and manufacturing projects.

    The role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong engineering background who enjoys customer interaction, commercial awareness and problem-solving.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

    Review customer enquiries, drawings and technical specifications.

    *

    Interpret RFQs and tender documentation to identify technical and commercial requirements.

    *

    Develop accurate cost estimates and quotations for engineering projects.

    *

    Work closely with Design, Projects, Supply Chain and Procurement teams to ensure proposals are technically feasible and commercially competitive.

    *

    Prepare professional bid submissions, quotations and customer proposals.

    *

    Liaise directly with customers to clarify requirements and develop strong working relationships.

    *

    Support contract handover activities following successful project awards.

    *

    Act as a central point of coordination between customers and internal stakeholders throughout the bid process.

    About You

    *

    Engineering, manufacturing or aerospace experience is essential.

    *

    Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

    *

    Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.

    *

    Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

    *

    Organised and capable of managing multiple enquiries simultaneously.

    *

    Experience of quotations, estimating, proposals, bids or tenders would be advantageous, but full training will be provided.
