I am currently working with a highly regarded law firm that is looking to expand its housing disrepair team with the appointment of an experienced Housing Disrepair Solicitor.
This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with a strong background in housing disrepair claims to manage a varied caseload while contributing to the continued success and growth of the department.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
Manage a caseload of housing disrepair claims from instruction to conclusion.
Advise clients on housing conditions, landlord obligations, and available remedies.
Draft legal documents including letters of claim, witness statements, schedules of works, and court pleadings.
Conduct negotiations with landlords, local authorities, housing associations, and their representatives.
Instruct and liaise with surveyors, experts, and counsel.
Attend court hearings and case management conferences where required.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, procedural rules, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate case records using the firm's case management systems.
Meet individual and departmental performance targets.
About you
Qualified Solicitor with experience in housing disrepair.
Strong knowledge of housing law and civil litigation procedures.
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
Ability to manage a busy caseload independently.
Strong client care and communication skills.
Proficiency with case management systems and Microsoft Office.
Desirable
Experience handling claimant housing disrepair claims.
Experience working under Legal Aid or CFA arrangements.
