How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    RECfinancial has been engaged on an exclusive basis to recruit a Financial Controller for a well-established Leicester-based business.

    The role is commutable from Leicester, Hinckley, Loughborough, Nottingham, Corby and Kettering.

    This is a dynamic and exciting PE-backed business with a modern and heavily invested office environment. The organisation continues to invest in its people, systems and future growth, making it an excellent time to join. A major Sage Intact implementation is planned, alongside a continued focus on improving reporting, controls and finance processes.

    Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will lead and manage the finance function, overseeing a well-established finance team.

    This person will take ownership of all aspects of management and financial accounts, alongside responsibility for month-end reporting, balance sheet ownership, financial controls, team development and process improvement.

    The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong technical accounting skills, previous team management experience and the ability to improve finance processes and controls. 

    This opportunity offers significant autonomy and visibility across the business. For an ambitious and driven individual, there is genuine scope to grow within the organisation, take on additional responsibilities and play a key role in shaping the future direction of the finance function.

    The salary range for this position is £55,000 to £70,000 dependent on experience.
