About the Role We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join a well-established and high-performing secondary school in Ilford, Redbridge. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students and deliver engaging, practical, and theory-based Food Technology lessons.
The successful candidate will have a strong subject knowledge and a creative approach to teaching, helping students develop essential life skills alongside academic success.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
Inspire and motivate students to develop a passion for food, nutrition, and healthy living
Prepare practical lessons, ensuring a safe and structured learning environment
Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to support achievement
Contribute to curriculum development within the Design & Technology department
Maintain high standards of classroom management and behaviour
Ensure all health & safety procedures are followed in practical lessonsPerson Specification Essential:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level (including practical lessons)
Strong knowledge of the UK curriculum (KS3 & KS4)
Excellent classroom management skills
Passion for delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
Strong communication and organisational skillsDesirable:
Experience teaching GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition
Ability to contribute to wider Design & Technology curriculum
