How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Teaching Assistant
    Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
    Start Date: ASAP

    Reeson Education are recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work in a vibrant and supportive Primary based in the Portsmouth area. This full-time, long-term role is ideal for a Teaching Assistant who is motivated, resilient, and passionate about supporting children with a wide range of needs.

    The successful Teaching Assistant will ideally be Team Teach trained (within the last 2 years) and confident supporting pupils who present with additional challenges such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, behavioural needs, SLD, and trauma-related difficulties. However, for the right candidate, we are able to offer high-quality Team Teach training, providing an excellent opportunity to gain this valuable qualification.

    As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing structure, encouragement, and tailored support to help pupils progress both socially and academically.

    Teaching Assistant Role Information:

    Full-time, long-term role with the opportunity to become permanent
    Start Date: ASAP
    Team Teach training preferred - training can be provided

    Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

    Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a range of additional needs
    Use Team Teach strategies (or willingness to learn) to help regulate behaviour and maintain a safe learning environment
    Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to implement personalised strategies
    Support children in regulating behaviour, building confidence, and engaging in learning
    Encourage positive social and emotional development
    Adapt to a fast-paced and varied environment while maintaining a calm, consistent approachTeaching Assistant Requirements:

    Team Teach trained (preferred) or willingness to complete training provided by us
    Previous experience working with children with additional needs is highly desirable
    Strong behaviour management skills with a nurturing and patient approach
    Ability to adapt quickly, use initiative, and remain resilient under pressure
    Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
