How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    SEN Teaching Assistant

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a leading specialist education provider in the South Wales. This role is ideal for professionals with a passion for supporting children with a range of special educational needs, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), pathway-specific diagnoses such as PDA, profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), global developmental delay, and challenging behaviour. The SEN Teaching Assistant in this position will play a vital role in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, supporting children with diverse needs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Support and supervise learners with ASD, PDA, PMLD, Global Delay Disorder, or challenging behaviour

    * Assist learners at the start and end of the school day

    * Help teachers prepare classrooms for lessons and activities

    * Work with learners in small groups or on a 1:1 basis to meet individual needs

    * Support the delivery of lessons alongside class teachers

    * Support learners during break times and lunchtimes

    * Engage learners with classroom and outdoor activities

    * Follow the organisation’s behaviour management policies and procedures

    Requirements:

    * Minimum of 3 months experience working with children in schools, nurseries, or childcare environments; prior SEN experience is highly beneficial

    * Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) or willingness to support registration

    * Current Enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one

    * Right to work in the UK
